Terms of Service

The service

Lost Goldfish designs and builds websites for local businesses at no upfront cost. You pay a monthly hosting fee of £29/month (or £15/month for hosting only) which covers website hosting, SSL security, uptime monitoring, and ongoing management as described in your plan.

What you get

When you become a client, we will:

• Design and build a custom website for your business at no charge
• Host your website on fast, secure infrastructure with 99.9% uptime
• Provide SSL security and DDoS protection
• Deliver a monthly performance report (on the £29/month plan)
• Include one website update per month (on the £29/month plan)

Ownership

You own your domain name, your content, and your website code. If you cancel your subscription, you keep everything. We will provide you with all files and help you move to another host if you choose to leave. There is no lock-in and no exit fee.

Payment

Hosting is billed monthly through Stripe. Your first payment is due when you sign up. Subsequent payments are taken automatically on the same date each month. If a payment fails, we will notify you and attempt to collect again. If payment remains outstanding for more than 14 days, we may suspend your website until the balance is cleared.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your client portal. When you cancel:

• Your website will remain live for 7 days from the date of cancellation
• After 7 days, your website will go offline
• Your domain, code, and content remain yours
• We will provide your website files on request
• There is no cancellation fee

What we need from you

To build your website, we need you to provide:

• Your business details (name, services, location, contact information)
• Your logo and any photos you want to use (if available)
• Access to your domain name settings (when connecting your domain)

The more you give us upfront, the faster we can deliver.

Our responsibilities

We will make every effort to keep your website live, secure, and performing well. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any loss of business, revenue, or data arising from downtime, security incidents, or other events beyond our reasonable control.

Content

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you provide (text, images, logos) does not infringe on anyone else's intellectual property or violate any laws. We reserve the right to refuse to publish content that is illegal, harmful, or inappropriate.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
